A conversation with the Inner Self, about the Inner Self . . .
The inner self seeks admiration for its deeds,
Yet is assured without the applause,
Because some things need to be done for their own sake;
The inner self wants love more than most things,
But knows that great love takes time to find,
And is worthwhile in the end;
The inner self doesn’t wish to be alone,
Yet it finds satisfaction and utility in silence,
For those times are when it has its best thoughts;
The inner self can ponder,
And put certain delusions from the mind,
As they are not worth dwelling on;
The inner self is afraid to die,
But realizes that death is inevitable,
And will be at peace should it arrive.
